    Increasingly in a world torn between futures that could resemble Star Trek (TNG is my preference) or a variation of Blade Runner, Cal Newport’s book points the way we interact with technology has very measurable repercussions to our own lives. In a society that is perpetually distracted with what is shiny and new, Deep Work’s main argument is that we should block off time as often as we can, to master our craft and this mastery is what will bring the highest value for us personally and quite possibly financially. The real life examples from his own and other’s lives are not to be dismissed and this book should be part of anyone’s library who wants more valuable, productive, satisfying hours in their days and lives.
