The Time Machine is a science fiction novella by H. G. Wells, published in 1895. Wells is generally credited with the popularisation of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposefully and selectively. The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now universally used to refer to such a vehicle.

    H.G. Wells' style of writing had me ensnared by its rich detail and fascinating characters. To me, it had a similar feel to War of the Worlds, another of his great books. It not only gives us an important look into our possible future, but also a look back in time, to when this book was written, giving insight into the changes in our societal direction since this book was published. I highly recommend it!

    Wells has always been one of my favourite authors, but I have to say that out of all his books I've read, this one is by far the best. The way he describes the world of the Future is unbelievable. I could easily imagine the scenery around me and what it would have been like to be there. My only issue is that it is a short novel. 113 pages if memory serves. I really wish that he would have written more, but it really is an exquisite book. I would recommend it to anyone.
