Happy Fathers Day!
I am a day late I know. We were pretty busy all day yesterday and I was too busy being involved with those around me to write.
My hubs spent the day flying down rapids with some friends for fathers day. We missed him but so glad he had a great time!
I just wanted to write on my husband. I wrote a few on him before. About our love and the way I love him. Since its fathers day though, I would love to write on him as a father.
Matt is not only a father to Caroline who is his own blood, but to Allie as well. He cares for her as his own and loves her just the same.
January 25th, 2017 Caroline was born. And from the moment I went into labor Matt was so awesome. I’ve written about that as well. When Caroline was born and the love Matt radiated was awesome to watch. Sure, the first few weeks or maybe even the first month…was hard. Really hard. Learning how to raise a baby and lose so much sleep…is hard.
Matt and I pushed through that hard time and came out stronger than ever. With things becoming easier it was easier to sit back and watch Matt be a dad.
I love watch Matt with Caroline. Caroline lights up when daddy gets home. She adores him and he adores her. They are two peas in a pod. Matt can make her laugh like no one else. And they both smile from ear to ear when they see each other.
Matt is present with Caroline. He talks and laughs with her. He takes her when my arms get tired and he takes her just because he wants to love on her.
Watching Matt be a dad is the best. He is such a great daddy. He comes home from work and even though he is tired and wants to nap…he doesn’t. He helps me and he spends time with me and Caroline. It means so much.
Watching the man you love…love on the tiny human that shares both of your genes is seriously awesome.
Raising babies isn’t always easy. And Matt and I are most certainly not perfect parents by any means. But we do our best. And Matt’s best daddy mode is the best. And that’s what counts. Love at first site is possible when having a baby. I not only experienced that first hand with myself but by watching Matt love Caroline at first site.
A father plays such a crucial role in a daughter’s life. And Matt has taken that role seriously and holds it closely. I can see that. And it’s amazing.
So, here’s to you Matt. Thanks for loving the girls. Thank you for taking the role as daddy so seriously and for understanding how important it is. Thank you for being my partner in parenting and for giving me another beautiful daughter. I love you always.
