The Starbucks red cup is back yall!

Why I don’t care about this?

First, I am not a huge fan of Starbucks. I prefer my breakfast blend of Folgers over Starbucks anyway. I throw some half in half in my coffee made at home and I am golden.

I like my coffee strong. I like my coffee as coffee, not sugar.

Starbucks is completely overrated in my own personal opinion. I went the other day because the salted Carmel is back. I got a tall and I paid $5.18… I paid 5.18 for a SMALL COFFEE.

I rolled my eyes and handed the card to the cashier. Here, take 5 bucks from me to give me diabetes. Because that is what that drink is made up of, sugar.

I sipped on my expensive sugar drink. I admit the first sip was pretty grand…the sugar goodness hit my tongue and it was so full of flavor. Every sip after that it got worse and worse. It started to taste burnt and the sugar was coating my poor teeth with every sip.

I know, I know. You’re thinking…Like OH. MY. GOSH. BECKY. She it totally dissing Starbucks. That’s like, totally against girl code rule or something.

I use to adore Starbucks. Until I discovered what real coffee tastes like. If I want sugar…I’m not taking it in liquid form.

I’ll admit, I do get a craving for a Starbucks drink once in a blue moon. The blue moon is usually when they bring out the pumpkin spice latte. I turn into total basic chick mode and go pick me up one. And when I say one…I mean ONE. I usually get one each time fall rolls around. Then I am reminded again of the ridiculous price they charge for their burnt tasting sugar coffee.

Again, this is all my own taste and personal preference. Personally, I like to make my money go further than Starbucks. I like to spend my money elsewhere. And I would just prefer to not spend a fortune on a small cup of coffee that I just don’t really like the taste of. That’s just me though.

So, Starbucks…nothing against you all. You’re a huge business making millions upon millions of dollars. You must be doing something right. You’re a fad and you’re something huge. You’ve sparked so big it’s crazy. And Here I am a small blogger who is just posting my opinions.

I saw an advertisement for the red cup this morning and I just had to post about it. I’m all about blogging about what brands I like. And well, which I don’t care for as well.

And Starbucks, I am just not a fan of your sugary goodness. When I discovered what health was…I lost interest in this brand. I just can’t handle the sugar count and the price they sell their coffee for. They are mighty strong of their coffee. And, it sells. So, why shouldn’t they?

So, keep buying those little(or large) red cups! I am going to stick to my glass cups in my kitchen.

Thanks for reading,

  1. I actually just started drinking coffee. I’m so out of the loop I didn’t even know they were changing their cup color! I’m assuming it’s seasonal?

  2. I’m not a big fan of Starbucks. I like their hot chocolate, but that’s about it. I’m not much for paying five bucks for a drink that doesn’t last long.

  3. I’m the same way. I’ll brew my own cups of coffee at home and make it how I like it for WAY LESS than a small cup at Starbucks would cost. I too occasionally splurge on salted caramel or my favorite white chocolate mocha, but that’s about it…

    1. Marissa, exactly!!! It is nice to have one every now and then. I can’t stand the amount of sugar. I check ingredients and such because of my healthy side…and I about had a heart attack when I saw the sugar count of some of their stuff. Scary! Lol!

  4. I admit, I like my coffee sweet and with plenty of milk, but most of the time I make it at home (thank you Keurig!). That said, I’m not at all sorry Starbucks brought the Chestnut Praline Latte back this year because that trumps the PSL in my mind. They’ll be getting a few dollars from me this season πŸ™‚

    1. Jenn that is awesome! Do you like any particular flavored creamers? There are some amazing ones out there! πŸ™‚ I have actually never had that flavor of their coffee! I do enjoy a PSL. I am so glad hey changed the dye in the PSL. I personally think it tastes better now as well!

    1. Just my personal opinion πŸ˜‰ and my opinion won’t hurt Starbucks in the least!!! πŸ™‚ and I prefer local local coffee over Starbucks any day!!!

  5. I’ve actually never had Starbucks. I’m a coffee addict, but I refuse to pay that much money for coffee (and always have). It’s the same reason I don’t have a Keurig. My coffee pot makes 12 cups in 3 minutes and has been running like a champ for 5 years, so I’m happy as can be!

    1. That is great that you stick by it! And yes, keurig is too expensive for my liking as well! I adore my coffee pot and I much prefer my home made coffee to people making it. Maybe that’s the little bit of control freak in me πŸ˜‰

  6. I don’t drink coffee so I can’t attest for the Starbucks coffee, but I have to say I do like this time of year there. It means I can indulge in their Peppermint Hot Chocolate and add a splash of Gingerbread to my Chai Lattes. As long as it is only once a year, I don’t mind, especially since I don’t do it that often. I don’t like over sugary drinks either.

  7. I love going to Starbucks at this time of the year. I love the Peppermint things, and they just don’t make it right the rest of the year. I make my coffee at home most of the time, but it’s nice for nights we’re out and I’m cold!

    1. Oh my goodness Tim hortons is THE BEST! I use to love to go there when I lived in Kentucky! Sadly, Georgia doesn’t have any πŸ˜”

  8. I’m more of a Dunkin ice latte drinker lol Starbucks is expensive and has sucked the past few times I’ve gotten it. And I keep seeing posts about the red cup also! Not impressed πŸ™‚

  9. It’s so true they put an insane amount of sugar and syrup in the drinks. I always order an Iced latte just like that because it’s too much!

  10. I usually drink my coffee at home for the convenience, but I do love Starbucks and really the whole coffee shop experience. I bring my two year old with me for an afternoon date sometimes and she loves it..
